2022 Award Winner
In 2022, Audrey Hollanders, from the Department of Dentistry, Radboudumc, Nijmegen, The Neatherlands won the award for her poster on "Effectiveness of Adhesive Containing MDPB: a practice-based clinical trial”.
About the Award
The ORCA Junior Scientist Award, inaugurated in 2007 as the Young Investigator’s Award and renamed into "ORCA Nathan Cochrane Junior Scientist Award" at the General Assembly of 4 July 2014 in Greifswald, Germany, intends to encourage and support young scientists in the field of cariology. It is awarded for an outstanding contribution to the annual ORCA conference.
The prize winner receives a certificate and is entitled to receive reimbursement of the congress fees of a future ORCA Congress.
Applicants for the ORCA Nathan Cochrane Junior Scientist Award are required to fulfil the following criteria:
- have not more than 5 international publications identified in Medline on the day of the deadline for abstract submission for the next ORCA Congress;
- be present at the closing ceremony of the ORCA Congress;
- not be a previous winner of the ORCA Young Investigator/Junior Scientist Award;
- must be the first author of the presentation;
- the presentation must not be a review.
Presenters enter the competition by ticking the appropriate box when submitting their abstract via the online submission system.
The next competition for the ORCA Nathan Cochrane Junior Scientist Award will take part on the next ORCA congress. The deadline to apply for this competition is the same as the one for the abstract submission for the next ORCA congress. The submission of the abstract follows the normal regulations for the congress and additional requirements will be announced after the acceptance of the abstract at the beginning of February.
